Weekend Herb Blogging #396 - Recap


It's summer holidays in the northern hemisphere so thank you for joining in with Weekend Herb Blogging this week. This is my first time hosting the Italian version so please forgive my dodgy Italian - you'll find the English recap first followed by the Italian.


Nasturtiums

Preserved Spicy Vegetables

Brii is without a kitchen but she still has can enjoy her preserved Spicy Vegetables from 2007. The vegetables and dried chillies are first salted, then soaked in vinegar before they are lightly blanched. Finally they are then stored in sterilised jars filled with extra virgin olive oil and fresh herbs.


Pumpkin Bread with Nuts and Blueberries

As soon as Cinzia saw the ingredients she knew she had to make this bread. Rich with pumpkin and studded with blueberries, they are pretty as a picture. Cinzia also supplies an alternative vegan recipe.


Redcurrant and Coconut Whole Wheat Vegan Muffins

To make these vegan muffins, Terry uses flax seed flour, soy milk and agave syrup. The acidity of the redcurrant balances well with the sweet agave syrup and coconut.

Verdure Piccanti

Brii è senza cucina ma lei ha queste verdure piccanti conservati dal 2007 per godere. Le verdure e peperoncini secche vengano primi salate, poi imbevuto in aceto e finalmente lessati in l'aqua. Sono conservati in vasetti sterilizzati con olio extravergine e l'erbe fresche.


Pane con Zucca, Mirtilli e Noci

Quando Cinzia ha visto gli ingredienti sapeva che doveva fare questo pane. Ricca di zucca e mirtilli, sono bellisimi. Cinzia fornisce anche una alternativa ricetta vegan.

Per fare questi muffin vegan, Terry ha usato farina di semi di lino, latte di soia e lo sciroppo di agave. L'acidità dei ribes rossi bilanca bene con la sciroppo di agave dolcezza e il cocco
